Privacy Policy

Allocate is built so that your financial data stays yours. This page explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

  • Your transactions are stored on your Mac and synced through your own iCloud.
  • There is no Allocate account and no custom backend server that holds your data.
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize your financial information.
  • You can export everything to CSV and delete it at any time.

What data the app stores

When you import a bank statement, Allocate extracts transactions — dates, descriptions, amounts, and categories — and stores them locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData. If you enable iCloud, this data syncs to your personal iCloud account so it is available across your devices. It is never sent to servers operated by Allocate.

AI categorization

Allocate uses an AI agent to categorize transactions. Where this processing requires a cloud model, only the data needed to categorize a statement is sent for that purpose, and it is not used to identify you or build a profile. During development the app runs entirely locally with a mock extraction service. This policy will be updated with specifics before any cloud processing is enabled in a public release.

Analytics on this website

This website may use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count aggregate page views and downloads. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. It tells us how many people visit — never who they are.

Identification & rate limiting

A future release may use anonymous device authentication purely to rate-limit automated abuse of the AI service. This identifies a device, not a person, and is not linked to your financial data.

Your control

Because your data lives on your own device and iCloud, you are always in control. Export it to CSV whenever you like, or delete it from the app and from iCloud to remove it entirely.
